From 1960 to 1967 she attended English Schools in Italy, Germany, France and The Netherlands where her father was serving in the British Army.

To determine a certain form of stability in her education, and follow her family tradition, from 1967 to 1973 she attended The Convent of the Sacred Heart, Beechwood, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, U.K. as a boarder, joining her family during the holiday periods.

It was during this period of time that she began to cultivate her passion for languages. This was also facilitated by the fact that her father is British and her mother half Italian and half Brazilian.

In 1973 until 1975 when her father was serving as British Defence Attache' in Portugal, she joined her parents and attended the Istitudo Superior de Lingua e Amministracao (I.S.L.A.), Lisbon.

She completed the two years preparation course for Interpreters and Translators, the course being interrupted by the Portuguese Revolution and its aftermath.

In these two years she studied French, German, Portuguese Language, Portuguese Literature, Philosophy, Portuguese History, Administration and Accounts. All lessons were carried out in the Portuguese Language.

At the same time she completed her British school education by correspondence.

She also participated in the Official and Social functions of The British Embassy and made a wide circle of international friends and acquaintances, receiving an introduction to politics and politicians at their most confused and confusing.

To continue following the British family tradition, (i.e. at 18 years of age you either attend Univeristy or work) and in accordance with financial possibilities, she had to decide what would have been the more practical solution. So in 1975 to 1976 she attended the Language Tuition Centre in London, UK and qualified as a Bi-lingual Secretary.
